Early Learning Program
We hear a lot about the achievement gap, the difference in academic performance between ethnic or socio-economic groups. By fourth grade that gap is more of a chasm, with students from low-income families being academically three years behind their more advantaged peers. There is little that can be done to close that gap, instead Peninsula Family Service is working to prevent it, providing the tools families need to help their children reach their full potential.
Our Child Development and Education programs are designed to overcome the challenges faced by low-income families. We close the gap between accessibility of resources, between quality of education, between a child’s potential and their actual achievement. Investing in early education is the most effective way to improve a child’s future success, and has the greatest returns for society.
